Pahalgam

Pahalgam is located about 95 km away from Srinagar and is one of the most popular places to visit in Jammu and Kashmir. It is about 15 km away from Pahalgam and can be quite the tough trek upwards but the final sight is totally worth it. Take a day and trek to Tulian to witness pure bliss.

Betaab Valley

Betaab Valley is named after the movie 'Betaa' which had actors Sunny Deol and Amrita Singh. It is situated about 15 km away from Pahalgam and falls enroute to the Amarnath temple yatra. The Betaab Valley is popular amongst trekkers as it serves as a base camp for numerous treks that go further into the mountains. The water is used by the locals for drinking, it is that clear! The stream running through the valley is the perfect picnic spot for the day

Sun Temple

Situated in Martand, the Sun temple is said to have been built in the era of the Pandavas. It is around 64 km away from Srinagar and is situated on a plateau. The temple is well known for the carvings on the walls and because it is on a high level, it offers a majestic view of the Mattan village. The Sun temple is a must visit as it is an integral part of the history and heritage of the area.

Chandanwari

Chandanwari fills up with snow during the winters and is known for its snow bridges. It is also the starting point of the Amarnath Yatra. One can reach the place by hiring a car. If you are visiting during the winters, don’t forget to hire some boots and coats and enjoy the beautiful sight around and play in the snow a little!

Mamaleshwar Temple

Mamaleshwar Temple is one of the oldest temples in Pahalgam. It was sanctioned to be built by King Jayasimha next to the banks of river Lidder. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is located just 1km away from Pahalgam You can visit this temple on foot and witness the divine Shiva Lingam and take in the sheer serenity of the temple.

Pahalgam Golf Course

Pahalgam golf course is famous for its picturesque surrounding and wonderful greenery. The entry fee is nominal and the course is very well maintained. So, grab a camera and head to Pahalgam golf course to capture the majestic beauty of greenery till the eyes can see.
